London Heathrow Airport Transportation


At Heathrow airport there are two options:


Train Express

It is the fastest way to reach London Paddington from Heathrow airport. Trains run every 15 minutes and it takes 15 minutes to arrive at the final destination.

Kids travel free (under 15 years old).


Heathrow Connect

The service stops at Heathrow airport and London Paddington. Departs every half an hour and calling at local stations in West London. Travel time is about 45 minutes medium.


Rail-air bus links

Bus services connect Heathrow airport with the national rail network at Feltham, Woking, Reading and Watford Junction.

There are buses that connects the LHR airport with the national rail network.


*Passengers can buy a combined coach-train ticket to cover the whole journey. It is not necessary to be a rail passenger to use the services.



Local buses

A lot of different buses run to different destinations along west London and the Thames Valley.

There are different local buses companies (London Buses, First Berkshire and The Thames Valley, among others) that run to nearby towns and London suburban areas.


Express bus

ToWatford, St Albans and Harlow (Green Line, Number 724), Croydon (London Buses, Number X26) and High Wycombe (Carousel Buses).


Night bus

Bus N9 runs to Central London during night hours, when the trains are stopped.


Hotel buses

Various hotels located in the surroundings of the airport offer direct bus services that operate between Heathrow airport and their facilities.

Coach: group travel

There are companies that provide coach service for groups that are travelling. Passengers may have a reservation to pick up the service.


Long-Distance Coach Services

Are operated by Oxford Bus Company and National Express. Coaches go to various parts of the UK, (Victoria Coach Station, London, included).


Underground (Piccadilly line)

4 stations serve the airport: Terminal 2 and 3. Terminal 4 and 5 serve the passenger terminals. The usual time travel from London Heathrow airport to Central London is 45-50 minutes.



Private Taxis

Three companies provides private taxi services: Minicabit, Green Tomato Cars and EcoExpress Airports Cars.


London Traditional Taxis

At the airport operate the traditional and popular black taxis, the typical ones that appear on the films. Taxis have wheelchair access and should be metered. From Heathrow airport to Central London rate is between £46 - £87 and it can take between 30 minutes and one hour to reach the destination (approximately).



At LHR airport there is the option to request the service of a chauffeur with a fixed price to/from any destination. Chauffeurit is the agencies that offers the service.
